 | | | In 1998, Congress enacted rules requiring Federal agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities. Under Section 508 (29 U.S.C. '794d), agencies must give disabled employees and members of the public access to information that is comparable to the access available to others.
The Section 508 regulations apply to all Federal agencies when they develop, procure, maintain, or use electronic and information technology. The United States Congress is not governed by the Section 508 rules but Members are strongly encouraged to comply with the regulations whenever it is feasible.
As a provider of services to Federal, State, and Local government offices and agencies, GovTech Solutions is well versed in the Section 508 requirements and works with each of our clients to develop web sites that are accessible to those with disabilities.
